A quick piece of History

Hey guys,

Well I figured I'd be nice and let you read up on some history. When the book comes out Sam will be telling this to Rachel as a bedtime story.

The History of the King of Dragons, His two sons and their adopted daughters.

This knowledge has been passed down through the ages and there are very few written versions left by the time the story begins. It is told as folklore by that time.

Back before time was recorded by man there existed dragons. They were fierce beasts that controlled everything with an iron fist. The King of Dragons had two sons. One sought good and peace between the land and its creatures (we'll call him Dragon A). The other sought to destroy the world and start a new one (we'll call him Dragon B). One day the two brothers got into an argument when they heard the sound of infants crying. They looked around until there was a loud crunch sound under the foot of Dragon B. It was a human woman he had stepped on, but by the looks of her body she had already died of blood loss from a sever bite. After stepping on the woman the two dragons noticed a basket hidden in a bush that held her crying twin infants. Dragon A said that they should do something about them so they won’t die. Dragon B said to let them die because nature was going to kill them anyway. But Dragon A said no. He then carefully picked up the two babies and went searching for where they might have come from. By the time night came it was no use, he couldn’t find any human camps anywhere nearby. So he returned to his cave to listen to his brother’s ridicule. The two dragons started to settle into bed when the babies began crying once again. Dragon A took a couple of whiffs and said they smell fine. Dragon B left the cave and returned with a goat. He had threatened the goat to feed the babies its milk. Once the babies were done the goat left and everyone went to sleep.

In the morning the two dragons woke to a baby curled up next to them. They each decided to raise the baby that slept with them. Dragon A raised its baby to become a light sorceress. Dragon B raised its baby to be a dark sorceress. Both girls were able to use powerful magic to control nature. The Light sorceress excelled at water and earth elements while the Dark sorceress excelled at fire and air elements. On the day the girls turned sixteen the two dragons decided to let the girls know the truth about how they became their daughters. The Light sorceress was sad but said she loved Dragon A like a father anyway. The Dark sorceress, on the other hand, said that she could not care less. This made the Light sorceress mad. So the two girls started fighting but the dragons broke them up. Around the time of the girl’s eighteenth birthday the King of Dragons was getting old and frail and would soon die. The Dark sorceress wanted to kill the King herself and take his power for her own. The Light sorceress caught wind of The Dark sorceress’s plan and went to stop her. The two girls got in a huge fight. Neither of the dragons could stop the girls. With the King’s remaining strength he separated the two girls and put them in tombs to sleep for all eternity. They say that if the two girls were ever to be woken the world would be destroyed.

The King of the Dragons was now on his death bed so his two sons constructed a tomb for their father to seal away his great power. The tomb was locked with seven gems and a key. The seven gems were then scattered about the world but the key had a spell cast upon it. The two dragons had know a wise old woman that they would speak to whenever they had a question about raising the girls. So the spell would keep it hidden with in the old woman's family until the King of Dragons power was needed in the event that the girls were to ever wake.

Well there is your history lesson for the day.

Enjoy.
